The purpose of the present study was to investigate the role of Taif University in preparing prospect leaders through the following axis (leadership approach, leadership talent management, building leadership competencies, coaching) from the point of view of its academic leaders. The study sample included (110) academic leaders at Taif University (dean, vice dean, head of department and vice of head department), and the study relied on the descriptive analytical approach and the questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The study reached many results, the most important of which were: the role of Taif University in preparing prospect leaders was of a moderate degree, with a mean of (2.14); the descending order of the roles' axes was as follows: adoption of a leadership approach, leadership talent management, building leadership competencies, and coaching, all of which were of a moderate degree; there are statistically significant differences at (0.05) level in the opinions of the sample members about the questionnaire axes as a whole, according to the variable of academic rank in favor of assistant professor, the variable of gender in favor of female respondents, and the variable of job description in favor of deans. The study provided recommendations, the most important of which are: developing personnel affairs departments into human resource management and building a center for preparing prospect leaders with the following sections: leadership talent management, building leadership competencies, coaching and adopting leadership approach.
