عادات العقل وعلاقتها بالسعادة النفسية لدى طلبة جامعة جازان
This research aimed at specifying the relationship between habits of mind and psychological happiness among Jazan University students. It also aimed at revealing the possibility of predicting the level of psychological happiness through habits of mind among Jazan University students, in addition to recognizing the statistically significant differences between the mean scores of each of mind habits and psychological happiness that are attributed to the gender variable (male / female) and the specialization variable (scientific/ literary) among Jazan University students. The research depended on the correlational descriptive approach. The researcher applied the Habits of Mind Scale (prepared by the researcher), and the Psychological Happiness Scale (Arabized by Abu Hashim 2010), on a sample that comprised (530) male and female students from the faculties of Business Management, Education, Medicine, and Science (eighth level). In order to achieve the aims of the study, the relevant statistical techniques were used, through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences Program (SPSS), Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Multiple Regression Analysis, and T-Test for independent groups. The study concluded the following results: There are positive and statistically significant correlations between psychological happiness scores as a whole and habits of mind scores (dimensions and total score), except for the dimension of "positive relationship" in the Psychological Happiness Scale and the dimension of "humor finding" in the Mind of Habit Scale, where the correlation coefficient was positive and insignificant. The results proved the possibility of predicting the level of psychological happiness through habits of mind among Jazan University students, in addition to the inexistence of statistically significant differences between male and female students in Jazan University in scores of Habits of Mind Scale (dimensions and total score), and the Psychological Happiness Scale (all dimensions and total score) that are attributed to the gender variable (male/ female). The results also concluded that there were no statistically significant differences between practical specialization students and theoretical specialization students in Jazan University, in scores of Habits of Mind Scale (dimensions and total score), and the Psychological Happiness Scale (all dimensions and total score). The researcher recommended designing counselling programs for developing habits of mind and psychological happiness among students. (Published abstract)
