The study aims to investigate the reality of the use of intermediate mathematics teacher in Al-Kharj Municipality for the alternative assessment methods and to reveal the suggestions that enhance their use. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive survey method is used. The study sample is 80 intermediate teachers from Al-Kharj Municipality representing 78% of the total population. The questionnaire is used as a tool for collecting data. To verify the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, The Pearson’s and Cronbach’s Alpha co-efficient are used in addition to the use the statistical mean to calculate the data. After analyzing the data statistically, the study shows different results: The most important is that the total use of the teachers to the alternative assessment method is moderate, the result of each of the performance assessment rule, the concept maps method, and the method of achievement file are large, whereas, the method of self-evaluation as well as the method of peers evaluation are observed to be low, and the values that hinder the use of assessment method are all very compatible. In addition, the suggested solutions that can contribute for enhancing the use of alternative assessment method also are very compatible. Therefore, this study entails several suggestions and recommendations: The use of the alternative assessment methods in educational programs in the faculties of education with the aim to prepare and qualify the mathematics teachers in order to apply it in teaching. To conduct further studies to reveal the effect of the use of these methods not only to boost the performance of the intermediate schoolteachers but also to ensure their achievement rate in mathematics.
