The study aimed to identify the extent to which the requirements of scientific culture are available in the science textbooks for the third-grade intermediate school in Saudi Arabia and to develop a proposed plan to enhance the science curriculum for the third-grade intermediate school in Saudi Arabia in light of scientific cultural requirements. The study used a descriptive-analytical approach, and the sample included science textbooks prescribed for the third-grade intermediate school in Saudi Arabia during the academic year 2023-2024. The study instruments included a content analysis card for science textbooks for the intermediate stage in light of scientific cultural requirements. The results of the study revealed that the inclusion degree of the main dimensions of the requirements of scientific culture in science textbooks for the third-grade intermediate school was varied and unbalanced. The total average availability rate of the basic scientific knowledge requirement was (52.3%), at a high level of availability. The average availability rate of the scientific operations and problem-solving requirement was (43.45%), at a moderate level of availability. The average availability rate of the environment and how to deal with its requirement was (2.55%), at a low level of availability. Finally, the average availability rate of the issues of interaction between science, technology, and society requirement was (1.7%), at a low level of availability. A proposed plan was developed to enhance the science curriculum for the third-grade intermediate school in light of scientific cultural requirements. The study recommended reconsidering the content of science textbooks for the third-grade intermediate school and its activities, enriching them with scientific cultural requirements to balanced degrees, given their importance as a qualified educational stage for the secondary stage.
