This study aims at investigating the positive reinforcement practiced by teachers on pupils of basic schools at Karari locality, and its relationship to academic achievement. Using the method of stratified random sample, (230) teachers were chosen from the basic schools at Karari locality Omdurman Province. For data collection, positive reinforcement scale prepared by the researcher, is used. The statistical methods used for data analysis are, independent samples T- test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Analysis of Variance- ANOVA Test. Data analysis resulted in the findings that, the positive reinforcement that is practiced on pupils by teachers has relationship with their academic achievement. The positive reinforcement that is practiced by teachers has a positive role in achieving integrated educational growth on pupils. There are statistically significant differences in the use of positive reinforcement, attributed to the teacher’s gender variable, for the benefit of females. There are statistically significant differences in the use of positive reinforcement attributed to the teachers` qualifications variable, for the benefit of PhD and MA holders. There are statistically significant differences in the use of positive reinforcement attributed to the teachers’ experience field for the benefit of teachers who have (15) years of experience and more. There are statistically significant differences in the use of positive reinforcement attributed to teachers’ training variable. (Published abstract)
