This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of a training program based on Science Standards for the Next Generation (NGSS) for developing the scientific and engineering practices for middle ‎stage teachers in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research followed the semi-experimental approach according to the design of the one group (pre-post/test), where the research sample reached (30) science teachers for the intermediate stage‎. To do this, the standards-based training program was built based on (NGSS), and Scientific and Engineering Practices observation card was prepared, the validity and reliability of the research tool has been verified. The results of the research showed that there is an effectiveness of the training program in developing scientific ‎ and Engineering‎ practices for science teachers in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a Black Gain Ratio (1.35). The research recommends training middle school science teachers to use NGSS standards. (Published abstract)
