The study aimed to identify a set of roles that should be played by academic leaders at Alexandria University to face the problems of human resources management at Alexandria University in the light of contemporary administrative thought, and the degree of practices of academic leaders at Alexandria University for their roles in facing the problems of human resource management from the point of view of faculty members at Alexandria University, and to provide procedures to improve the practices of academic leaders at Alexandria University for their roles in facing the problems of human resources management from the point of view of faculty members at Alexandria University, and providing procedures to improve the practices of academic leaders at Alexandria University for their roles in facing the problems of human resources management at Alexandria University, and the study population consisted of all faculty members (professor, assistant professor, lecturer) at Alexandria University, their number reached (4460) faculty members, a questionnaire was applied to a stratified random sample of (294) faculty members, and the most prominent results of the first and second axes are: the most practiced roles are: the participation of faculty members in the department in making decisions related to their work in the department, cooperation with the human resources department in collecting and analyzing data related to faculty members in the department, and working to be the data of the faculty members in the department stored in the databases of human resources and information systems for human resources in the department, including all information that concerns them and the weakest practice: delegating some of its competencies to faculty members in the department, developing the capabilities of faculty members in the department so that they can solve their work problems efficiently.
