This research aimed to identify research t Trends in educational research published about preparatory year at King Saud University during the period from 2009 AD to 2022 AD, by the following elements (the areas examined- the research community category-gender of research community), and identify the characteristics of research by the following elements (type of research-research methodology-research tools- The number of research tools- The number of categories in the research community- gender of the researcher-the number of the researchers- the annual distribution of research), Descriptive method and content analysis were applied to all sample of the research which was (75) published. The research concluded that the field of Determine the existence of a relationship (18%) was the most prominent, The Students were the most studied categories(65.93%). The research revealed the lack of researches that examined the parents' category, The research also showed that the gender of the highest research community was male (42.67%). The research showed the predominance of the descriptive approach(84%), and the lack of the qualitative and historical approach, As for tools, the questionnaire was the most widely used tool(39.42%), As for the number of tool and category of the research community, they were in one tool (72%) and one category (82.67%) in most research. The study also found that males researchers have a higher number of researches(69.33%), The year 2016 was the highest in research publications with a rate of (14.67%), and the second period 2015-2018 witnessed an increase in the number of published researches by (52%).
