فاعلية طريقة التلعيب (gamification) في تنمية مهارات التعبير الكتابي باللغة الإنجليزية وتعزيز الدافعية للتعلم لدى طالبات الصف الثالث المتوسط بمكة المكرمة
The study investigated the effectiveness of using gamification in developing writing skills and enhancing the motivation to learn the English language. It used a quasi-experimental design based on experimental and control groups to achieve the research objectives. This study was conducted on a sample of 194 third -grade students from the seventh intermediate school in Makkah. The total number of participants in this study was students selected in a random sample way. These participants were divided into two groups: the experimental group consisted of 95 students, and the control group consisted of 99 students. A test was designed to measure the skill of written expression in English, and the measure of motivation to find out the impact of the independent variable, which is gamification in this study, on the dependent variables, which are written expression skills and motivation to learn. The results of the study showed that: 1) there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group and the control group in the post application of the achievement test, in the skill of using linguistic structures, the skill of punctuation, the skill of logical order of events, the measure of motivation and in the total score of the test. 2) The presence of statistically significant differences at the level of (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the control group in the post application of the motivation scale. The study recommended the use of gamification in developing English language skills and suggested conducting more studies and research to enrich the field of gamification. (Published abstract)
