The aim of the current study was to investigate the effectiveness of a mindfulness based counseling program in reducing self-stigma associated with obesity and its impact on the quality of life among female high school students in Buraydah city. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. The experimental group consisted of five female students aged between 15-18 years. With a mean age of (16,5), and a standard deviation of (1.02). The study tools included the Five-Factor Mindfulness Short Form (FFM-15) developed by Gu et al. (2016), translated by the researcher, the Arabic version of the Weight Self-Stigma Questionnaire (WSSQ) developed by Lilis et al. (2010), adapted and standardized by Nasser bin Dahim et al. (2020), and the Quality-of-Life Scale for Middle and High School Students developed by Karima Bahra (2015), in addition to the counseling program developed by the researcher. The study revealed several results, including statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the experimental group students in mindfulness, self-stigma associated with obesity, and quality of life before and after implementing the program, favoring the post-test assessment. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the follow-up assessment in mindfulness, self-stigma associated with obesity and quality of life among the experimental group students after the program's completion. Based on these results, the researcher proposed several recommendations and research suggestions. (Published abstract)
