The study aims to investigate and explore the perceptions of educational counselors regarding the reasons for high school female students' addiction to social media platforms in schools in the central Hebron district. This study also sought to understand the role of the educational counselor in addressing this phenomenon. The study followed a qualitative methodology and employed a personal experiential design for individuals. Four counselors, deliberately chosen for their expertise in working with students in this stage, participated in the study. The data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews, yielding information that could not be obtained through other tools. The results indicated that internet addiction through social media platforms has various causes, including continuous internet access, family problems, parental supervision absence, and the developmental stage that female students are going through. The counselors' perceptions in dealing with this issue pointed to the need for various training sessions and necessary skills. The study recommended conducting multiple workshops and training programs for counselors in this field, as well as raising awareness and educating parents about internet usage. It also emphasized the importance of community efforts to reduce this phenomenon. (Published abstract)
