The research aims to reveal the extent to which Islamic education teachers in Jeddah Governorate possess knowledge and professional practice competencies in light of distance education. To achieve the research objectives, a descriptive survey method was applied. An electronic questionnaire was designed with two main axes according to a five-point Likert scale. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed and then distributed to all research population, which contains (1821) Islamic education teachers in the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate in the summer semester 1444/2023. The number of completed responses from teachers was (179), which were processed statistically using descriptive statistics. The results showed that Islamic education teachers have great professional knowledge regarding technology while teaching at a distance. The results also showed a relative deficiency among some Islamic education teachers in some professional practices. Compared to the results of the professional knowledge aspect, in general terms, most of them confirmed that Islamic education teachers possessed high professional knowledge and practices in light of distance education. Considering the results, the researchers presented some recommendations and research suggestions. (Published abstract)
