The current study aims to identify the challenges facing female teachers working at special education schools and centers in the Republic of Yemen. The study also aims to explore the differences in the level of challenges facing female teachers with respect to the variables of experience, qualification, social status, governorate, and the type of disability that female teachers work with. The study utilized a descriptive method to achieve the study objectives. The researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of 49 items, distributed into 7 sub-domains. The developed questionnaire was administered to a sample of 413 female teachers working at special education schools and centers in the governorates of (capital Sana'a, Aden, Ibb, and Dhamar) in the Republic of Yemen. The study results found that the mean of the total score for the questionnaire was 3.46 with a weighted percentage of 69.24, indicating a high level of challenges that face female teachers who are working at special education schools and centers in the Republic of Yemen. The results also revealed that there are statistically significant differences in the domain of financial challenges based on the variable of educational qualification, and in the domain of psychological challenges based on the variable of social status of the participants. As well as significant differences were existed in the overall challenges based on the variables of governorate and type of disability that female teachers work with. However, no statistically significant differences appeared in the challenges facing female teachers according to the years of experience variable. (Author's abstract)
