This study aimed to investigate the effect of using game-based learning in the Flipgrid application on 8th grade EFL students' speaking skill and their attitudes toward it in Jordan. The participants were 36 female students at Um Attia Al-Ansaria School for Girls during the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023. The school was purposefully chosen; it had two sections of the 8th grade. Section (A) was selected randomly as a control group; it consisted of 16 pupils and was taught regularly. Section (B) was assigned as an experimental group, and it consisted of 20 pupils who were taught using the Flipgrid application. The researcher applied a pre-post-test of the speaking skill to both groups and used a questionnaire tool with the experimental group. The study used a quasi-experimental design along with a descriptive approach as its approaches of study. The findings of the study showed that: 1) There were statistically significant differences a = 0.05 in the speaking skill due to the teaching strategy (Flipgrid Application vs. regular instruction) in favor of the experimental group (Flipgrid Application). 2) There is a statistically significant difference a = 0.05 between body language and facial expressions from one side and between each of intonation, authenticity, vocabulary and grammatical structures, using idiomatic expressions in favor of each of intonation, authenticity, vocabulary and grammatical structures, and using idiomatic expressions. 3) Students in the experimental group had positive attitudes toward game-based learning (Flipgrid Application).
