The study aimed to investigate the effect of using Hello English application on 8th grade EFL female students' the speaking skill and vocabulary acquisition and their perceptions toward it. The participants of the study consisted of 33 students from the 8th grade taking vocabulary and speaking lessons on Al-Shefa'a Bent Awf Secondary School for Girls at Amman Borough Directorate of Education. To achieve the purposes of the study, a test was developed for the experimental and control groups in this study. In addition, a questionnaire was applied to the experimental group. The participants were divided into two sections by the school administration. Then randomly assigned into two groups: The experimental group (17 students) and the control group (16 students). The experimental group was taught the speaking skill and vocabulary using the Hello English application, while the control group was subjected to study the speaking skill and vocabulary using the regular instruction method. Results of the study revealed that: 1) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students in the experimental group and the control group in speaking and vocabulary and their aspects due to using the Hello English application in favor of the experimental group. 2) Students in the experimental group developed positive perceptions toward using the Hello English application in their learning of English-speaking skill and vocabulary area classes. As a result, it was recommended to use the Hello English application as an instructional aid in learning the speaking skill and vocabulary and their aspects. (Author’s abstract)
