The study aimed to identify the effect of using the hot seat strategy on the academic achievement of mathematics among the second-grade students in Jordan. The experimental approach was used with a semi-experimental design. The study was applied on a sample of two groups, the experimental group consisted of (30) male and female students, and the control group consisted of (30) male and female students. The hot chair strategy was used in teaching the experimental group, and the usual method was used in the control group. A pre and post achievement test was conducted for both groups, and the validity and reliability of the test were confirmed by known scientific methods. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) between the averages of the experimental group and the averages of the control group on the post-test in achievement due to the difference in the teaching strategy (hot chair, the usual method) in favor of the experimental group that was taught using the chair strategy. This means that the hot chair strategy has a positive and effective role in the achievement of second-grade students in mathematics. In light of the results, the study recommended the need to intensify efforts to conduct more studies and research dealing with the hot chair strategy in academic achievement. (Author’s abstract)
