This study aimed to know the reality of applying instructional design in the distance e learning from the point of view of female leaders of government high schools in Jeddah. The study used the descriptive and analytical qualitative approach in collecting data. The study tool was the semi structured interview, and the study's purposive sample consisted of 10 female leaders. The study concluded that the educational tasks of female teachers fall under the stages of instructional design, these tasks require more training in making plans to achieve the educational aims, identifying student educational levels, choosing the appropriate teaching methods, preparing suitable educational environments considering characteristics of students, and building a set of evaluation tests to see the extent to which the goals were achieved. Moreover, the technical skills of female teachers also need training. Finally, the study recommended several things, including spreading the culture of instructional design by the General Directorate of Education in Jeddah among teachers, school leaders, and supervisory leaders, as well as training on it. Furthermore, training in technical skills, and measuring the impact of training given its importance. (Published abstract)
