This study aimed to identify the ratio of problem solving skills in predicting the academic engagement for faculty of education students, a sample of research was formed in its last form from (263) male and female students from the first stage of the faculty of education in Damietta with its scientific and literary sections, the time period ranged between (17-18) Years with an average age (17.92) and a standard deviation (0.26). The researcher prepared an academic engagement scale and a problem solving skills scale to be used as the study skills. Also, she used the descriptive associative approach according to the procedures of the predictive study to reveal the relative contribution of problem-solving skills in predicting academic engagement, the results asserted that there is a statistically positive correlation between the academic engagement and problem-solving skills among students of the faculty of Education, Moreover, the findings asserted the possibility of predicting the academic engagement of students of the faculty of Education through problem-solving skills. Moreover, the contribution percentage of decision making in hypotheses appropriate for predicting academic engagement was (%3.7), whereas that of admitting the problem and seeking its solving was (%14.5). In addition, the contribution percentage of verifying and evaluating hypotheses was (percentage 18.1) whereas that of generating ideas and hypotheses formation was (percentage 61.3).
