درجة تضمين كتب العلوم للصفوف الثلاثة الأولى في الأردن لمضامين التربية الصحية
The aim of this study was investigating the extent to which science textbooks for the first three grades in Jordan incorporate contents related to health education. To achieve the study objectives, a descriptive-analytical approach was employed, utilizing content analysis methodology. The study population consisted of science textbooks for the first three grades, with both parts for each grade, for the academic year 2022-2023. A list of health education contents to be included in science textbooks was developed, and this list was further refined into a content analysis tool comprising 51 items distributed across five main domains: physical health, nutritional health, healthcare, environmental health, and psychological health. After verifying the validity and reliability of the study instrument, the content of science textbooks for the first three grades was analyzed. Frequencies and percentages were calculated, revealing that the proportions of health education content domains for all grades were ranked as follows: environmental health, healthcare, physical health, nutritional health, and psychological health. Based on the results, the study recommends emphasizing the inclusion of content related to psychological health domains in science textbooks for all grades. (Author’s abstract)
