The study aimed to design an educational unit using (think - pair - share) strategy and to know its effect on developing the cognitive achievement and some basic skills in basketball of secondary stage students (female). The researcher used the experimental design with two groups, the experimental and the control one using the post-measurement method for the two groups. The sample of the study included (30) students as a control group, (30) as an experimental group and (20) students as an exploratory sample. The researcher used an evaluation form of some basic skills of basketball and a test of cognitive achievement (prepared by the researcher) as data collection tools. The most important results of the study indicated that using (think - pair - share) strategy had a clear and effective impact on developing the cognitive achievement and basic skills in basketball of secondary stage students (female).
