The aim of the study to identify the possibility of the contribution of the charitable Waqf in supporting the educational sector in Iraq by demonstrating the contribution of the charitable Waqf in supporting the educational sector in general through the experiences of selected countries and highlighting the most important challenges facing the charitable Waqf in Iraq. The problem of the study given "the problem of the educational sector in Iraq in general and the problem of lack of school buildings in particular and the conflict in decisions, which requires finding a solution to this problem through the contribution of the charitable Waqf to support the educational sector. Study methodology The researchers used the analytical descriptive approach by referring to previous studies, magazines, periodicals and websites related to the subject of the study and analyzing the experiences of several Arab countries for the contribution of the Waqf to support the educational sector. The researchers concluded that the Waqf is a contract of legal donations contracts in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and everyone has resolved its legitimacy. The Waqf contributed in Islamic history to the establishment of various educational institutions. There are experiences of several countries on how to invest Waqf funds in supporting their educational sectors, the educational sector in Iraq does not receive sufficient funding due to the fact that the dependence is primarily on the central funding of the state, most of the laws issued by the Republic of Iraq are traditional man-made laws, the researchers recommend the need to exploit and invest Waqf funds By the Iraqi state for its ability to reduce some of the burdens on its financial budgets, the need to form higher committees to address the outstanding problems with regard to Waqf properties in order to limit them and end the conflict, developing the competencies and experiences of the workers in the Iraqi Waqf institutions, benefiting from the experiences of the leading countries in how the Waqf contributes to support The educational sector.
