Research problem: The research problem is identified in answering the following main question: What is the relationship between social awareness to the citizenship values between Saudi university students? Study objectives: The study aimed to identify the following: determine the level of social awareness from the opinion of students of Saudi universities through the following dimensions: (Self-awareness, community and cultural awareness, religious and moral awareness, political and legal awareness), highlight the values of citizenship from the opinion of university students Saudi Arabia, the equality value, the freedom value, the justice value, the social participation value, the correlation between the level of social awareness and the values of citizenship from the opinion of students in Saudi universities, and the statistically significant differences in the opinions of respondents on the topics of the study for their personal and educational characteristics. Research population and sample: The study population consists of the students of King Saud University in Riyadh (25051), and the study sample consists of regular male students in the Bachelor who are (466) valid for statistical analysis, in the academic year 1439-1440H. Methodology and tools: The researcher used (the descriptive approach) as the appropriate approach to the nature of the present study, and two scales were adopted: the social awareness scale which was prepared by the researcher and consists of (36) sentences, and the scale of the citizenship values by Dr. Al-Harbi (2017) which consists of (44) senetences. Main results: 1) The level of social consciousness from the opinion of the study sample is an average of (90.7253 of 108), and the most prominent levels of social consciousness from their opinion were religious and moral consciousness in average of (2.747 of 3), followed by self-consciousness in average of (2.474 of 3), followed by community and cultural consciousness on average (2.474 of 3), and finally, the consciousness of the legal and juridical awareness in average of (2.383 of 3). 2) The level of citizenship values from the opinion of the study sample is an average of (163.0236 of 220), and the most prominent values of citizenship from the opinion they represented the value of freedom in average of (3.964 of 5) followed by the value of community participation in average of (3.722 of 5), and finally equality in Average of (3.454 of 5). 3) There is a positive statistically significant correlation at 0.01 between the social consciousness scale and its dimensions (self-awareness, social and cultural consciousness, religious and moral consciousness, legal and political awareness), and the citizenship values scale and dimensions of (value of equality, freedom, justice, social participation values). 4) There are no evident differences at 0.05 about (citizenship values scale, equality, freedom, equity, social participation values) between the variables of age, scientific specialization, level of study at the university and social status categories. Main recommendations: 1) The ministry of media and information should adopt a program to publicize the meanings of citizenship and to raise positive thinking about this concept by raising awareness about it through systematic dissemination in visual, print and auditory media. 2) The Ministry of Education should include the concepts of citizenship and coexistence in the national education curriculum in terms of focusing on these concepts equally along with the definition of nation history. 3) Adopt a new curriculum on the subjects of social awareness in the curricula of secondary grades to consolidate the basics of building ideas, shaping perceptions and deepening critical self-thinking. 4) Saudi universities should employ the objectives of the Kingdom vision 2030 to enhance the capacity of individuals to multiply research topics in the areas of social awareness and citizenship values. 5) The national dialogue program should organize an annual forum with the participation of academic institutions, civil society institutions and the media to build a dialogue on promoting social awareness and define the concept of citizenship values.
