This study aims to examine the level of awareness of the negative effects of cyberbullying among university students at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Oran-2, Algeria. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. 82 students at the faculty of social sciences were under study. The questionnaire consists of 19 items distributed across three dimensions. The questionnaire was used to assess students' awareness of the nature of cyberbullying taking into account its various forms, behaviors, and effects. To analyze the data, a descriptive approach was used. The data analysis revealed 1) that the level of awareness among the students is average. 2) The results also revealed that the most common form of cyberbullying according to the students is abusive images, and according to the students, the most significant negative behavior resulting from cyberbullying is social withdrawal. In light of these results, the study proposes the following recommendations: 1) Encourage condemnation of cyberbullying behavior and fight all forms of cyberbullying through confrontation strategies. 2) Emphasize the importance of cybersecurity measures to protect privacy and ensure safe use of online platforms. 3) Promote awareness of regulatory bodies and anti-cybercrime units in the event of cyberbullying attempts.
