Problem of the study: the study problem is represented in the following main question: what are the social factors linked to drug abuse from the point of view of female university students? Study population: The study population consists of female university students from King Saud University and the Arab Open University, a stratified sample was selected according to the type of university (government, private). The sample number was 1523 students. Methodology and tools: The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach as well as the questionnaire to collect the data. Significant findings: 1) The study found that the first social factor associated with drug abuse from the point of view of female university students is family breakdown, by the consensus of the sample. The most prominent element was weak family control, followed by parents' ignorance to listen to the problems of their children which in turn lead to drug abuse. 2) The study found that the second social factor associated with drug abuse from the point of view of female university students is peer group. One of the most prominent factors of the peer group associated with drug abuse is 1) deceiving of peer group to try using drugs. 2) Getting used to smoke in friends groups. 3) The study also found that the third most prominent drug related social factor from point of view of female university students is domestic violence, and that the most prominent factors of domestic violence associated with drug abuse is the psychological violence by parents specifically towards children, followed by physical violence. 4) The fourth most prominent drug related social factor from point of view of female university students is leisure time, and that the most prominent elements were feeling of empty ness which enhances the spirit of adventure, followed by the use of drugs in leisure time due to daily pressures. 5) There were many results related to differences in demographic characteristics, but the most prominent of these differences related to the type of university, which was in favor of the government university. Main recommendations: 1) Working to increase the number of family consultation offices and centers in the community concerned with pre-marital rehabilitation, raising family awareness and solving social problems in addition to raising awareness of their impact on drug abuse. 2) Working to open psychological counseling clinics within universities or within the university hospitals to provide assistance and treatment to students suffering from family and psychological problems which in turn may lead them to drug abuse, in addition to raising awareness through these centers and providing assistance to drug users.
