This research aims to find out the impact of the method of refuting ideas in reducing the paradoxical emotional expression of students with chronic diseases in the intermediate stage by testing three hypotheses. Which was translated by the researcher and is composed of (26) paragraphs, and the research community was identified from school students with chronic diseases affiliated to the General Directorate of Diyala Education in the Baquba city center for the intermediate stage, and the research sample was (200) students and the program sample was (20) students who obtained The highest scores for the paradoxical emotional expression scale compared to the hypothetical medium, divided into two experimental and control groups, and after applying the scale and determining the counseling needs of the sample, and determining the experimental design of the program, and (12) counseling sessions were built for the titles of the counseling sessions according to the theoretical framework with the application of the techniques and activities of the counseling method that It was adopted by the researcher. The results, after analyzing the results of the three hypotheses statistically and interpreting them, showed a low level of contradictory emotional expression among the counseled in the experimental group, who are students with chronic diseases in the intermediate stage to whom the counseling program was applied.
