تصورات أساتذة أقسام التربية الخاصة في الجامعات الحكومية السعودية حول فرص الطلبة ذوي الإعاقات الفكرية في الالتحاق بالتعليم الجامعي : إطار مفاهيمي
This study aimed at investigating the conceptions of faculty members of special education specializing in intellectual disabilities in Saudi governmental universities of the chances of students with intellectual disabilities to enroll in institutions of university education and the consequential benefits. The study also aimed at recognizing of the preparation, obstacles and features of such programs. In this qualitative study, a case study methodology was used. Basic data was collected through 24 semi-structured interviews with the participants, 20 males and 4 females. Additional data was collected by analyzing documents related to Saudi’s educational systems. By using thematic analysis, the results showed the participants supported the development of those programs, stressing their benefits to the individual, the family and the community. The results pinpointed a number of obstacles that may be encountered such as personal, social and administrative obstacles. The results also showed that attributes required were admission requirements, nature of these programs, teaching and evaluation strategies, supervision and continuation. Depend on these results, a conceptual framework of such programs was created. Related recommendations were submitted on the light of Kingdom’s vision 2030 to achieve the right of empowerment for all individuals with disabilities. (Published abstract)
