تحليل محتوى كتب الرياضيات بالمملكة العربية السعودية في ضوء مهارات الخيال الرياضي
This study aims to explore the extent Mathematical Imagination skills are included in Mathematics textbooks in KSA. The descriptive, analytical approach is adopted for content analysis. Study population consists of all mathematics textbooks in general education for first and second semesters. Textbooks are 24 including 813 lessons. A Mathematical Imagination skills list was developed. Analysis results showed that the inclusion level of Imagination skills in the elementary was: 54.08% and at a medium degree, and it was in the intermediate stage: 24.35% and at a low degree, while it was in the secondary stage: 21.56% and at a low degree. The study recommends proposing educational activities that tackle low levels which have emerged because of excluding some indicators related to mathematical Imagination skills, like (identifying different items, expansion, withdrawing).
