دور المعلم في تحقيق مرتكزات المواطنة الرقمية في تدريس طلبة مدارس التعليم الحكومي بدولة الكويت
This study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions regarding their roles of attaining the pillars of digital citizenship represented in digital culture, social and ethical responsibility, and digital security among students in public school in the State of Kuwait. The descriptive survey method was used, and a questionnaire was applied to 646 teachers, selected using the simple random technique from all school zones in the State of Kuwait. The findings showed: 1) The role of the teachers in attaining the digital culture, social and ethical responsibility, and digital security among their students is high; 2) No statistically significant differences exist that can be attributed to gender and major variables; 3) Statistically significant differences regarding the aspect of digital culture due to the school district’s variable do exist in favor of the Al- Ahmadi school district. Based on the findings, some recommendations were suggested as follows: 1) Including the pillars of digital citizenship in the colleges of education programs; 2) Organizing seminars and discussion panels to increase the digital awareness among teachers and students when using educational applications; 3) Including the pillars of digital citizenship in the school curricula.
