أثر الخلفية الإجتماعية للطلبة على زيادة الإقبال لإكمال التعليم العالي في المجتمع الفلسطيني
This paper deals with the impact of the social background on the completion of higher education in the Palestinian society. The study revealed that the first and the highest reason for its value as a motivation to enroll in graduate programs among Palestinian students is the professional factor. The answer to the questions of this research is that the number of specializations in postgraduate programs in Palestinian universities is constantly expanding in a way that is not commensurate with the practical needs required within this society. It is clear from this that there is no balance between graduate programs and the number of students enrolled. The number of postgraduate students in different Palestinian universities has also been high. It is not required compared to the practical need. There are also a number of factors that are more motivating than others to enroll in these programs, such as the desire to have a more practical and social status than the educational motivation. A number of changes have occurred in the number of students enrolled in postgraduate programs after receiving them negatively, namely the increase in the number of graduates, the increase in the unemployment rate, specifically the academic unemployment in exchange for the lack of other professional cadres required by institutions operating within this community and back The existence of some of the challenges facing the graduate programs and the needs of these different programs, specifically applied disciplines, due to the lack of number for material reasons against the huge number of human specialties. This research was conducted on an expanded sample of graduate students enrolled in these programs within the Palestinian universities, especially in the universities of the northern regions of the Palestinian society, represented by postgraduate students, An-Najah National University, Birzeit University, And the University of Jerusalem, Abu Dis represented for postgraduate students in the southern areas of this society. The sample of this study consisted of 900 individuals from the category of postgraduate students enrolled in these universities during this academic year 2018-2019, 300 individuals per university. The majority of those enrolled in these programs were male, unemployed, unmarried, middle aged, and well-off. In addition, most of them were from rural areas more than others, applied to low-income and middle-class students may be due to the students' desire to improve the status of the Palestinian society that currently exists in these groups and their families. It also emerged that all social background factors have a clear impact on the enrollment of this group of students in various postgraduate programs, especially from human specialties compared to others. It emerged that there is a strong relationship between gender, age, social status, place of residence, nature of work, educational specialization, Cumulative number of students, and the amount of monthly income of their families to enroll in this type of studies. It also emerged that the motivation of students to graduate studies in Palestinian universities came to the professional factors related to the improvement of working conditions as a maximum, followed by the economic factors represented by the increase in income levels, followed by social factors, the social status of the person, and the educational factors related to raising the educational level declined The researcher recommended in the end a number of important recommendations at the private and public level, the most important of which was the need to balance the disciplines of human and applied education for As well as the need to study the situation of the Palestinian society again before the opening of any educational program of these programs in any university was old or newly established, and public or private , And to work on the opening of special educational specialties.
