The study aims to identify the extent to which scientific rules are used in the scientific methodology for the process of selecting terms and building concepts in social science research, by clarifying the reality of the application of the scientific methodology in selecting concepts and terms, and the extent of the development of scientific rules in the scientific methodology, while clarifying the relationship between the concept and reality. The descriptive analytical approach, and the study sample consisted of (50) university professors in social sciences at the University of Sennar. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program was used to analyze the results of the study; The study reached important results, including: the application of scientific rules in the scientific methodology in the process of selecting terms and building concepts in social science research, providing criteria for measuring educational outcomes with concepts and terms, improving concepts and terminology from researchers’ performance of scientific research, and developing the rules of scientific methodology for concepts and terms by meeting them. The relationship between the concept and reality in the scientific methodology is to help on how to measure, and its connection to society, based on the results of the study, the study recommends the need to provide theoretical definitions of scientific concepts and terms in social research, and work to cover all concepts and terms procedurally in research, and Training researchers on scientific rules in the methodology of using concepts and terms in research for the social sciences.
