Autism disorder has become one of the most prevalent disorders at the present time, and researchers in this field have been interested in designing treatment programs that enable the autistic child to integrate into his society, and the current study falls within the studies that focused on finding effective ways to ensure this category, and it aimed to verify the effectiveness of the autism program Directed play to improve the linguistic level of autistic children in a special center in the Wilaya of Biskra. The study sample consisted of ten (10) children with autism spectrum disorder six (6) males and four (4) females, who were selected by stratified random sampling method. The experimental method was based on the design of one group with a pre, post and follow‐up measurement after a month of applying the program. The most important results obtained were: 1) The presence of statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the pre, post scores of the sample members on the linguistic communication assessment scale in favour of the post‐measurement. 2) There are statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the pre and post measurement scores for the study sample members on the linguistic communication assessment scale in each of following dimensions: limitation, attention, understanding and recognition, expression, label. 3) There are no statistically differences between the mean ranks of the pre and follow‐up measurement scores for the study sample members on the language communication assessment scale.
