This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a program based on sign language in developing language readiness skills for deaf preschool children. To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared the study tools, which are: a list of appropriate language readiness skills for deaf children in the preschool stage, a test measuring language readiness skill for deaf children in the preschool stage, and a program for developing language readiness skills for deaf children in the preschool stage. The researcher followed the quasi-experimental approach, the one-group design, and the study sample was limited to five deaf pre-school children who had two listening parents, and their ages ranged between 5-7 years, and they suffered from a level of hearing loss ranging from severe to profound )70 dB or more). The language readiness test was applied before and after the implementation of the study program on the children, and it was also applied sequentially. The results of the study indicated the effectiveness of the language readiness development program (indicative readiness, readiness to read, and readiness to write in developing targeted language readiness skills. The study recommended preparing a curriculum in sign language for deaf children in preschool years. (Published abstract)
