This study aims at identifying the extent of playing electronic games and its relationship to emotional and social problems among primary school students in Yatta city. The study sample consisted of students of grades (5th- 10th) in schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education - Yatta, for the academic year 2020-2021, whose number is 607 from the study population of 13374 students during the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021. The researcher used the descriptive correlative approach, and the questionnaire as a tool for collecting study data. The psychometric properties were verified. The results of the study indicated that there is a positive correlation between playing electronic games and emotional and social problems among the students of the upper basic stage in the schools of the Yatta Education Directorate from the point of view of the students themselves. Moreover, the results indicated that the degree of playing electronic games among the students of the upper basic stage in the schools of the Directorate of Education in Yatta came to a high degree, where the mean was (3.89) with a standard deviation of (0.81). In addition, the emotional problems resulting from playing electronic games by students of the upper basic stage in the schools of the Yatta Directorate of Education, from the point of view of the students themselves, came to a low degree where the mean was (2.03) with a standard deviation (0.79). The results indicated that the social problems resulting from playing electronic games by students of the upper basic stage in the schools of the Yatta Directorate of Education from the students' point of view came to a low degree, where the mean was (2.05) with a standard deviation (0.87). The researcher recommended that parents provide a healthy and sound environment for their children by providing an environment characterized by love, psychological and emotional security, caring for their children and encouraging them to practice their hobbies, which enhances their self-concept and responsibility.
