The current research aimed to reveal the effectiveness of mood management intervention in relieving some depressive symptoms among a sample of university students, and its continuity of effectiveness, as well as identifying its steps and techniques as a new approach that enriches psychological studies in this field. The study sample consisted of (10) female students at the Faculty of Education, Benha University, their ages ranged from (18-19) years, and they were divided into two groups: an experimental group consisting of (5) female students, and a control group consisting of (5) female students. The researcher used the diagnostic interview list for depressive symptoms (prepared by Ismail Badr), and the mood management program to relieve some depressive symptoms (prepared by the researcher). The Wilcoxon Test and the Mann-Whitney Test were used, and the results of the study indicated that there were Statistically significant differences between the averages of the mean scores of the students of the experimental group and averages of the mean scores of the students of the control group on the list of the diagnostic interview for depressive symptoms in the post-measurement In favor of the experimental group, and there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post measurements on the list of the diagnostic interview for depressive symptoms in favor of the post measurement, and there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group scores in the post and fellow- up measurements (its duration one month and a half) on the list of the diagnostic interview for depressive symptoms.
