The aim of the present research is to develop the most suitable reading comprehension skills among intermediate-level non-Arabic speakers, through the use of Text-based theory. To achieve this goal, a list of reading comprehension skills was prepared, and a test was prepared in reading comprehension skills. The present research followed the one group pre/post- test design. In this design, the dependent variables are measured before and after the experiment. The reading comprehension test was administered to the sample (N=12) prior the application of the theory as a pretest. After teaching the study sample using Text-based theory, the reading comprehension test was post administered. Findings of the study revealed that the reading comprehension skills were developed among intermediate-level non- Arabic speakers as a result of teaching using Text-based theory. (Published abstract)
