دوافع تفضيلات الطلبة للمواد الاختيارية والحرة بجامعة عمان الأهلية
This study aimed to find out the students’ preference motives of elective and free courses. The study was conducted on (180) students enrolled in the university. The study revolved about the reasons of the students’ preferences of elective and free courses and if there is significant differences between male and female in the choice of elective and free courses according to the following: the nature of course, character of the instructor and the time of lecture. The researcher used a questionnaire composed of thirty items, to run study. The statistical program (SPSS) used to calculate, frequencies, percentages, and (t) test for two independent samples. The results showed that students preferred the easier more enjoyable courses, courses which are useful in practical life, courses which exams are composed of objective questions, courses that depend on understanding rather than memorizing, and courses which have a professor whose style of presentation is attractive, treats students unbiased, and allows them to express their own opinion. The majority of students also preferred to take their elective courses in the mornings, during summer semesters, and courses which lectures are an hour long. (Published abstract)
