This study aimed to identify the role of professional license in improving the professional performance of intellectual education teachers from their point of view (gender, age, experience, and educational qualification). The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the study sample consisted of (122) of intellectual education teachers in government schools in Taif city. A questionnaire was developed by the researchers and applied to collect data. The results showed that the role of the professional license in improving the professional performance of intellectual education teachers from their point of view came to a high degree in all fields (the cognitive aspect of intellectual education teachers, the use of the individual educational plan, the use of appropriate behavioral strategies for the intellectually disabled, and the use of planning strategies in teaching the students with intellectual disabilities). The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the role of the professional license in improving the professional performance of intellectual education teachers from their point of view due to the variables (gender, age, experience, and educational qualification). The study recommended taking advantage of the existing movement by the teaching staff and employing it to serve the development of the educational field and to employ the expertise of teachers in building higher quality teacher preparation programs, which would achieve better qualification for those wishing to belong to the educational work. Also, the study recommended not to be limited to the professional license as the only way to develop the educational field, but rather to diversify the methods in preparation and evaluation teachers.
