ممارسة الألعاب الإلكترونية العنيفة وعلاقتها بالعدائية والسلوك العدواني لدى عينة من المراهقين
This study aims at examining the relationship of violent electronic games with hostility and aggressive behavior. It focuses on identifying the various differences in hostility and aggressive behavior among high and low electronic games playing adolescents of different sexes, schooling stages and types of games played. The study is based on a study sample of (1349) students selected from the intermediate and high schools in Jeddah city. For this purpose, the researcher prepared a questionnaire for collecting relevant data in addition to a measuring scale, which validity was precisely verified. Miss Amal Baza has prepared this scale. The researcher has adopted the descriptive correlational approach to achieve the goals of this thesis and answer the questions raised herein. He also used statistical methods such as (T) test, variance analysis and the like. The study results obviously indicated the existence of a relationship between violent and hostile electronic games and aggressive behavior. As well, the study reveals the existence of statistically significant differences for low-level violent electronic games players in favor of males in terms of gender. As for those of high games practicing, there are no statistically significant differences between them, while there are no statistically significant differences for those of high and low levels of violent electronic games playing at different school stages. The study results also showed that there are statistically significant differences for those of high and low violent electronic games playing according to the type of game in favor of the PUBG famous game. As for practice (in terms of high and low levels) based on school stage, gender, and type of game, the results reveals statistically significant differences, all in favor of the high level. In light of these results realized, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggested researches. (Published abstract)
