أثر استخدام استراتيجيات حل المسألة الرياضية في تنمية التفكير الناقد في الرياضيات لدى طلبة المرحلة الثانوية في الأردن
The study aims at investigating the impact of using problem-solving strategies in developing critical thinking in mathematics among (182) secondary school students in Jordan. The study used quasi experimental methodology; the study sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group that used problem-solving strategies and a control group that used a convenient method. To achieve the objectives of the study, a test of critical thinking in mathematics was applied, and its validity and reliability were verified. A training program on problem-solving strategies in mathematics has also been developed. The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference (α=0.05) between the arithmetic means of the experimental group and control group in the critical thinking in favor of the experimental group in general and each sub-skill in specific. Moreover, they showed no interaction between the strategies and the previous level of achievement in mathematical critical thinking among secondary students. In light of the results, the researcher recommends the need for using mathematical problem-solving strategies while teaching mathematics, and for training mathematics teachers on strategies that develop critical thinking.
