واقع برنامج تهيئة المعلمين الجدد مهنيًا في النظام التعليمي القطري : دراسة استطلاعية
The study aimed to identify the current reality of the induction program to prepare new teachers in public schools in the State of Qatar, and also aimed to develop a formula for improving the current program, in light of the analysis of the program according to the conceptual framework developed by Stansbury and Zimmerman in 2000. To achieve these goals, analysis of induction program activities and strategies from published documents was conducted. Semi-structured interviews were held with several school principals, vice principals, and coordinators in order to support the data referenced in published documents, and to obtain additional details about the mechanisms for implementing activities, strategies, and the content of the induction program. The results showed that most of the activities currently used fit within the low intensity activities according to the classification of Stansbury and Zimmermann. Hence, the study recommended adding a group of high intensity activities that contribute to the retention of new teachers in their profession and to enhance their professional development.
