The current research aimed at examining the effectiveness of Beyer’s strategy in teaching home economics to develop reasoning thinking skills and attitudes towards self-learning among a sample of (60) preparatory stage female students enrolled in Salah Khattab Preparatory School, Meet Khaan, Menoufia Governorate. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group (n. 30) and a control group (n. 30) student. To achieve this aim, a test of Reasoning Thinking skills, and measure of attitudes towards self-learning the were prepared and applied. The quasi- experimental and descriptive approaches were applied. Following the statistical analysis using SPSS, the results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-application of the reasoning thinking skills test, and the measure of the attitudes towards self-learning in favor of the post application; and there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups’ mean scores in the post- application of both the reasoning thinking skills test, and the measure of the attitudes towards self-learning in favor of the experimental group. Also; there were statistically significant correlation between attitudes towards self-learning and reasoning thinking skills, thus the Beyer's Strategy was proved to be effective in developing reasoning thinking skills and attitudes towards self-learning among preparatory school students, that was confirmed by the results of the "eta square" (η2) strong effect. The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to developing reasoning thinking skills, and the attitudes towards self-learning of students, especially in the preparatory stage, and to apply Beyer strategy in teaching home economics at various school levels, and holding programs for training teachers on this.
