أثر استخدام استراتيجية تسلق الهضبة في اكتساب الطلبة للمفاهيم التاريخية في مبحث التاريخ
The current study aimed to identify the effect of using the plateau climbing strategy on students' acquisition of historical concepts in the history course. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the quasi- experimental approach in conducting it, by applying the study tools to her sample, which consisted of (200) male and female students from the ninth-grade students in government schools affiliated to the Jerash Education Directorate. They were randomly assigned to two groups (experimental and control), with 100 students per group. The members of the experimental group were taught the second unit of the history book according to the strategy of climbing the hill, while the control group was taught by the traditional method of the same unit. The results of the study showed a statistically significant effect of the hill-climbing strategy on students' acquisition of historical concepts in the history course and in favor of the experimental group. While, there were no differences in the acquisition of historical concepts by the experimental group of students in the history study due to the gender of the student. The study also recommended a number of recommendations, the most important of which was the necessity of educating social studies teachers in general and history teachers to use modern problem-solving strategies, including the plateau climbing strategy because of its positive effects on students’ acquisition of abstract historical concepts.
