The study stands on an important topic of applied linguistics, as linguistic planning is the first building block in education before it is put into practice. From this standpoint, the study seeks to answer the following problem: What is the impact of linguistic policy and linguistic planning on the reality of teaching the Arabic language? This problem stems from the following questions: What is meant by language policy and language planning and the relationship between them? What is meant by educational reform and what is its relationship to language policy? What is the function of the language policy adopted by Algeria with the aim of educational reform? To answer these questions, we adopted the analytical descriptive approach for its suitability for the study, to structure the research accordingly on a theoretical aspect that stands on the theoretical concepts of the study. And an applied aspect in which the linguistic policy in Algeria and the reform of the Arabic language curricula we readdressed. The study stood on the following results: 1) The linguistic policy is the decisions made by the state, while the linguistic planning is the procedural application of the decisions of the linguistic politicians, and the relationship between them is a complementary one. Language policy and language planning are carried out within the framework of authorized institutions according to organized plans and effective strategies aimed at improving education. Those in charge of language planning seek to find solutions to problems and difficulties in teaching the language according to a future vision. (Author’s abstract)
