تأثير الأزمات على الشعور بالأمن النفسي للمتعلمين : الوضع مع جائحة كورونا
This study aimed at diagnosing the negative effects that emerge as a result of crises on school students, focusing on the Corona pandemic as a leading example of these crises. It also tried to explore the scope of the feeling of psychological security in students that were negatively affected by crises during, as well as after the corona pandemic, in the way that educational counselors have viewed them upon working with these students in Jerusalem. This study sought to target reaching its goals by answering its main question: What is the scope of the effect of crises, especially the corona pandemic, on the feeling of psychological security on school students as viewed by teachers and educational counselors? To answer this question, a qualitative approach has been used in a detailed and analytical descriptive design. This was done by developing two different models of near consistent independent interviews of 16 students in the high school level, and 8 educational counselors in Jerusalem schools. They aim to gather data, and deeply define the negative effects that reflect students during their exposure to different crises, which in turn affects their level of psychological security. The validity and reliability of the study has been approved by a group of educational experts and judges upon presentation, in order to reach consistency of the questions asked in interviews with the ones asked in the study. Then, data has been analyzed by the researcher with the help of another researcher to compare the consistency of the results of each researcher, and of the answers of the participants in the study, in addition to how their results contrasted, to reach a final conclusion on the final results of the researcher of this study. The results of this study conveyed a number of negative effects, during and after the corona pandemic, on students. This was displayed in psychological, social, educational, and economical effects and thus led to an emergence of mental disorders like depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder, which led to the effect on psychological security on school students in the view of educational counselors and students. These results also showed an absence of a degree of self-awareness in students to acknowledge knowing how to deal with these crises in order to adapt and deal with them. Based on these results, a number of recommendations were offered in order to make the best of guidance services and psychological support for students in times of crises. The most important of them were: the importance of developing and producing guidance programs which focus on the way learners can reach psychological security, inserting the topic of managing crises in the educational curriculum to teach students how to cope with crises and adapt to them, and preparing seminars and guidance courses for educators and counselors to raise their awareness in dealing with students and providing the guidance services necessary to cope with the exposure of these crises. Suggestions for future studies have been provided which assist developing this study and following up with its research. (Author’s abstract)
