أعراض الاكتئاب لدى عينة من طلبة جامعة تكريت



The aims of this research are to identify the average of depression symptoms among students of university, and the differences in depression symptoms according to sex (males - females) and specialization (scientific - humanistic). The research Methods: ninety-three university students in Tikrit University, (51) males and (42) females, in 2009-2010 academic year. The researcher adopted Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), and indicators of validity and reliability was achieved. The results have shown that mean of depression symptoms among males was (16.49) and females was (17.48), and results of TWO-WAY ANOVA revealed there was no significant difference in depression symptoms with regard to the sex and specialization. The mean of depression symptoms in this study has shown that it’s a highest in Arabic countries. The research concluded that higher mean suggests to study depression symptoms prevalence rates among another Iraqi universities, and prepare a therapeutic and consulting program. (Published abstract)
