This study aimed to know the degree to which academic leaders need to improve their performance in private Jordanian universities in the light of situational leadership from the point of view of academic leaders and faculty member. The study consisted of (302) academic leaders and faculty members in private Jordanian universities. The study sample was chosen by the simple random stratified method. The results of the study concluded that the degree to which academic leaders need to improve their performance in private Jordanian universities from the point of view of academic leaders and faculty members came to a medium degree, where the field (planning and implementation) ranked first and at a medium degree, while the field (follow-up and evaluation) came in the last. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) in the degree of academic leaders' need to improve their performance in private Jordanian universities due to the variable (gender, experience, and academic rank).
