The current research aimed to know the effect of the interaction between the two types of competition (between groups / in groups) and the style of presentation of the task in an environment of digital game stimuli in developing scientific concepts, critical thinking skills, and academic participation among pupils of the preparatory cycle. The research sample consisted of (64) students from the second year of middle school at Hafez Ibrahim Preparatory School for Boys, who are enrolled in the school year 2021/2022 AD, who were selected and randomly distributed into four groups. The researcher designed the competition type (between groups / in groups), and the presentation style of the task (whole / partial); Where the pupils studied the educational content through the elements and mechanisms of playing, and competing for the tasks included in it, the pupils of the first experimental group competed with a type between groups and the style of presenting the whole task, and the pupils of the second experimental group competed with a type between groups and the style of presenting the partial task, and the pupils of the third experimental group competed with a type in groups and the style of presenting the whole task, and the fourth experimental group pupils competed with a type in groups and the style of presenting the partial task. Accordingly, the researcher applied the research tools, which are: a test of measuring scientific concepts, a test of critical thinking skills, and a scale of academic participation, and the appropriate statistical treatment methods were applied using the statistical software package for the social sciences “SPSS.V. 25”. The most important results are superiority of the competition type (between groups) in developing scientific concepts, critical thinking skills, and academic participation; and superiority of the style of presenting the partial task in developing critical thinking skills. While there was no effect of the style of presentation of the task (whole / partial) in the development of scientific concepts or academic participation; As for the interaction, it turns out superiority of the type of competition between groups with the style of presenting the whole task in developing scientific concepts; and superiority of the type of competition between groups and the two styles of task presentation (whole/partial) in developing the Recognition of assumptions skill, and superiority of The type of competition in groups and the style of presenting the partial task in the Evaluation of arguments skill, and superiority of the type of competition between groups and style of presentation of the partial task in testing critical thinking skills; While there was no effect of the interaction between the competition type (between groups/in groups) and the task presentation type (whole/partial) with a learning environment based on gamification in developing the academic participation of pupils of the preparatory cycle.
