The aim of the thesis was to reach a proposed vision for the developing of the performance of secondary school teachers in light of the European model of excellence. It also aimed to identify contemporary trends about teachers' in service training programs, and to explain how developing teachers' training programs contribute to the development of teachers' performance. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method. The importance of the study can be summarized in raising the level of proficiency of secondary school teacher in the field of production efficiently in the light of global trends. In addition, to provide those responsible for the preparation of teachers' special training programs with proposals that may increase the effectiveness of the training programs offered to them in the secondary stage. The study may also contribute to presenting some perceptions that educational officials can benefit from to develop teachers' training programs according to contemporary trends, especially the European model of excellence. The study concluded that the Ministry of Education should conduct certain procedures and practices to improve the performance of secondary school teachers through training courses. Moreover, there is a need to guide the secondary stage teacher to the desirable qualities in his personality as a current leader elsewhere. Finally, teachers should implement new trends inside and outside the classroom. (Published abstract)
