The study aims to reveal the level of functional competence of the employees of the Hashemite Library at Al al-Bayt University and its relationship to the quality of services provided. The descriptive, correlational survey method has been used. To achieve the objective of the study, the sample has been selected using a simple random method. The study sample consists of (702) male and female students, at a rate of 3.26% percent of the study community. The study tool consists of three parts: the first part includes personal information about the respondent. The second part includes a questionnaire of job competence. It consisted of (20) paragraphs distributed over two areas (job performance and the use of technologies).As for the third part, it included a questionnaire on the quality of the services provided, and it consisted of (25) items distributed over three areas (focusing on the beneficiary (student / library visitor), continuous improvement, and the availability of the necessary tools and skills) distributed over (45) items. Its validity has been confirmed. The study has come up with the following results: From the students' point of view, the job competence of the employees of the Hashemite Library at Al al-Bayt University is at an average level. Moreover, the results of the study indicated that there are statistically significant differences in the level of job competence from the point of view of students, due to the year variable in the field of job performance. The differences is in favor of the first year. The results indicate that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of functional competence due to the variables of sex, college, academic level, and totality in all domains. The quality of services was average. Furthermore, the results of the study also suggest that there have been statistically significant differences in the level of quality of services provided due to the variables of academic level, year, in favor of postgraduate studies. It is worth mentioning that the sex variable has made no statistically significant differences in all domains. The results of the study also indicated that there is a direct positive correlation between the areas of job competence and the areas of quality of services provided. Considering the results of the study, the researcher thoroughly recommends the following: The interest should be increased in applying comprehensive quality assurance standards in the requirements of institutional accreditation which is related to material resources. These resources meet the requirements of total quality of the university environment in general, and the library in particular. Also, Public safety means such as audio and visual alarms should be available in all library facilities in cases of fire and dangers. Finally, the responsible people at Al al-Bayt University should be informed of the results of this study so that the employees in the Hashemite Library can benefit from it. (Author’s abstract)
