The research aimed to identify the competencies of the sign language interpreter from the point of view of deaf students in university education, to identify the most common dimensions of the academic sign language interpreter competency scale, to identify the differences between deaf male and female university students in the competencies of the academic sign language interpreter, and to identify the impact of the academic year. The specialization for deaf students in university education on the competencies of the academic sign language interpreter for the deaf, and the research sample consisted of (30) students in the Faculties of Specific Education in the three universities: Zagazig, Ain Shams, Alexandria, and their ages ranged between (20-23) In general, the researchers used: The academic sign language interpreter competency scale )prepared by researchers), and the results revealed the following: That the personal competencies of the academic sign interpreter come at the forefront of competencies from the point of view of deaf students in university education, and there are no statistically significant differences attributing to the gender variable between the sample research in the competencies required for academic sign language interpreters, there are no differences attributable to the variable of academic specialization of deaf students, and there are statistically significant differences in the study group in favor of the group A For a third.
